Business Activism

Where to start? This stuff transcends design and the day-to-day. Our nature is to be active and engaged: with the design community, the business community, the local community. We’re always part of the debate.

Locally active

Local community is an important part of Leap and alongside our own team's personal commitments Matt was also Co Chair of B Local Cornwall (B Corps second fastest growing area outside of London.) This culminated in a the first B Local event being held at our home Old Bakery Studios. Find out more here.

Nationally active

In the fight to pass a Better Business Act (“so that every company in the UK, big or small, takes ownership of its social and environmental impact”). It’s an important policy change that needs to happen, something we’re very passionate about. See our blog for more details on how you can get involved.

Creatively active

Once again we were a driving force behind Goodfest (a festival of creative conversations exploring how to inspire change through purposeful ideas and actions).

Although this year was another digital version, it gave rise to The Sustainable Creative Charter. As the world focussed on Cornwall in June, we created a G7 campaign called “dontdoitdreckly” raising awareness of the carbon footprint of the world leaders journey’s to Cornwall and ensuring there was meaningful action.

Physically and environmentally active

Matt joined over 100 change makers and cycled 540 miles to COP26, gaining 600+ climate pledges and actions saving 17280kg CO2 annually. The team did a virtual cycle in the office too. Find out more about the cycle here.
